Effect of cardiac myosin inhibitors on cardiac structure and myocardial fibrosis in obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: a meta-analysis of cardiac magnetic resonance outcomes
Listen to this summary
This meta-analysis investigates the effects of cardiac myosin inhibitors (CMIs) on cardiac structure and myocardial fibrosis in patients with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (oHCM) using cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) outcomes. The findings indicate that CMIs significantly reduce left ventricular mass index, maximal left ventricular wall thickness, and left atrial volume index, but do not demonstrate a clear impact on myocardial fibrosis as measured by late gadolinium enhancement or extracellular volume fraction. Thus, while CMIs improve certain cardiac structural parameters in oHCM, their effect on myocardial fibrosis remains uncertain.
