Tozorakimab to Prevent COPD Exacerbations

The authors aimed to evaluate the efficacy of tozorakimab, a monoclonal antibody targeting interleukin-33, in reducing the frequency of moderate or severe exacerbations in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who continued to experience exacerbations despite standard inhaled therapy. In two phase 3 trials, results showed that tozorakimab significantly lowered the annualized rate of exacerbations compared to placebo in both former smokers and the overall population. Safety assessments indicated a similar incidence of adverse events between the treatment and placebo groups.
