Oveporexton for Narcolepsy Type 1 - Results from Two Phase 3 Trials

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of oveporexton, an oral orexin receptor 2-selective agonist, in treating narcolepsy type 1 through two Phase 3 trials. Results indicated that oveporexton significantly improved mean sleep latency, reduced daytime sleepiness, and decreased cataplexy rates compared to placebo over 12 weeks, although it was associated with a high incidence of adverse events, particularly increased urinary frequency and transient insomnia.
