Postpartum Sexual Function in Women with Intrapartum Pelvic Floor Muscle Trauma

This study investigates the impact of intrapartum pelvic floor trauma (PFT) on postpartum sexual function and the patterns of pelvic floor physical therapy (PFPT) referral among women. The findings reveal that while overall sexual function improved over time, women with PFT experienced a greater burden of symptoms, particularly related to penetration pain and libido. Additionally, the study highlights a significant gap in PFPT referrals, emphasizing the need for improved screening and proactive follow-up for affected women.
