Patients' perceptions of hand osteoarthritis care in Dutch general practice

The authors aimed to explore patient perspectives on the management of hand osteoarthritis (OA) in Dutch general practice, identifying key barriers and facilitators to care. Through semi-structured interviews with patients, they found that inadequate communication and support from general practitioners (GPs), along with poor collaboration among healthcare providers, significantly hindered care. The study highlights the need for improved GP training and accessible educational resources to enhance patient-centered management of hand OA.
