One-Year Transcutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation Treatment Persistence in Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction: Clinical and Urodynamic Associated Factors in a Prospective Observational Study

The authors aimed to assess the persistence of Transcutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation (TTNS) treatment over one year in patients with lower urinary tract dysfunction (LUTD) and to identify clinical and urodynamic factors influencing this persistence. Their findings revealed that 38% of patients continued treatment after one year, with higher persistence rates observed in patients with neurological LUTD compared to non-neurological cases. Additionally, early patient-reported outcomes and symptom burden were significant predictors of long-term treatment adherence, suggesting the need for further research on the relationship between neuro-urological profiles and TTNS persistence.
