Restoring Continence After Devastating Post-Obstetric Fistula Repair Incontinence: A Pilot Study Comparing Cystoscopic vs Periurethral Bulkamid

This pilot study aimed to compare the effectiveness of cystoscopic-guided versus periurethral Bulkamid injections for treating post-obstetric fistula repair incontinence (POFRI) in women. The results indicated that both techniques yielded promising short-term outcomes, with notable improvements in urinary incontinence scores, though the periurethral approach was simpler and avoided the need for cystoscopy. The authors suggest that larger studies with extended follow-up are necessary to confirm these findings.
