Effects of Intraoperative Nociception Monitoring during Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis Correction
Listen to this summary
This study aimed to determine whether intraoperative nociception monitoring using the Analgesia Nociception Index (ANI) could reduce postoperative morphine consumption in adolescents undergoing surgery for idiopathic scoliosis. The results showed no significant difference in morphine use on the first day post-surgery between the ANI-guided group and the control group, although the ANI group received less remifentanil during the procedure. Additionally, there were no differences in the incidence of persistent postoperative pain after six months.
