Effect of Pre-operative Intravenous Crystalloid Bolus on Post-Induction Blood Pressure - a randomized blinded intervention trial

This study investigates whether administering a pre-operative intravenous crystalloid bolus can reduce the incidence of post-induction hypotension in high-risk patients undergoing major non-cardiac surgery. The randomized trial found no significant difference in the time-weighted average mean arterial pressure below 65 mmHg between patients receiving the crystalloid bolus and those receiving standard care, suggesting that pre-operative crystalloid administration does not effectively prevent post-induction hypotension.
