Fibroids return: Parasitic myomas 13 years post-hysterectomy with power morcellator

This case study investigates the occurrence of benign leiomyomas, referred to as parasitic fibroids, in a patient 13 years after undergoing a supracervical hysterectomy with power morcellation for fibroids. The authors aim to highlight the significance of proper specimen containment during surgical procedures and suggest that parasitic fibroids should be included in the differential diagnosis for pelvic masses in patients with a history of gynecologic surgery.
