Cardiorespiratory fitness, physical activity, and vasomotor symptoms of menopause

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to investigate the associations between cardiorespiratory fitness, moderate-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), and the prevalence of severe vasomotor symptoms (sVMS) during menopause. While they found that higher baseline fitness and MVPA were correlated with lower prevalence of sVMS, their analysis concluded that these factors were not independently associated with sVMS after adjusting for various covariates. This suggests that alternative strategies may be needed to address severe vasomotor symptoms in menopausal women.
