Associations Between Pulsed Oxygen Saturation During Out-Of-Hospital Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Quality and Return Of Spontaneous Circulation

The authors aimed to investigate the relationship between pulsed oxygen saturation (SpO2) during out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and the likelihood of achieving return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC). They found that higher event-average SpO2 was significantly associated with an increased probability of sustained ROSC and survival to hospital admission, although it did not correlate with neurological intact survival. Additionally, cycle-average SpO2 did not show an association with the quality of chest compressions during CPR.
