Comparative Outcomes of Circumferential Versus Segmental Labral Reconstruction in Hip Arthroscopy: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to compare the clinical outcomes, complications, and reoperation rates of segmental versus circumferential labral reconstruction techniques in hip arthroscopy. Their systematic review and meta-analysis of 28 studies found that both techniques led to significant improvements in patient-reported outcomes without notable differences, although circumferential reconstruction was associated with a lower rate of conversion to total hip arthroplasty. However, the authors caution that causality cannot be established due to study heterogeneity and design limitations.
