Urodynamic Voiding Patterns in Multiple Sclerosis

Listen to this summary

This study aimed to characterize urodynamic voiding patterns in patients with multiple sclerosis (PwMS) and evaluate the effectiveness of existing indices for diagnosing bladder obstruction and contractility. The findings revealed that abnormal voiding patterns, particularly sphincter dysfunction, are prevalent among PwMS, but the diagnostic indices assessed showed low to moderate agreement with the clinical diagnoses of detrusor underactivity and obstruction. Thus, the authors suggest that current indices may not be suitable for this specific neurogenic population.
