Long-Term Functional Outcomes and Complications of Advance™/AdVance Xp™ Male Suburethral Slings in the Management of Post-Prostatectomy Incontinence: Multicentric Prospective Ten-Year Follow-Up Study

Listen to this summary

This study aims to evaluate the long-term functional outcomes and complications associated with the AdVance™/AdVance XP™ male suburethral slings in treating post-prostatectomy urinary incontinence over a ten-year period. The results indicate that while initial continence rates are promising, with 67.8% of patients considered cured at three months, a notable percentage (28.81%) experienced a loss of continence during follow-up, primarily due to stress urinary incontinence recurrence. Overall, the findings suggest that these sling implants provide acceptable long-term continence rates, particularly in patients with mild to moderate incontinence who have not undergone prior pelvic treatments.
