Fetal abdominal circumference and adverse perinatal outcomes in pregnant individuals with pregestational diabetes

Listen to this summary

This study aimed to evaluate the association between fetal abdominal circumference (AC) and adverse perinatal outcomes in pregnant individuals with pregestational diabetes. The findings indicate that both small and large AC are linked to higher rates of perinatal morbidity, with large AC showing a particularly strong association with complications such as neonatal hypoglycemia and cesarean delivery. The authors suggest that abnormal fetal AC may provide critical clinical insights for managing pregnancies in this population, warranting further investigation.
