Membrane sweeping versus double-balloon catheter for cervical ripening: A randomized controlled trial

Listen to this summary

This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of membrane sweeping versus the double-balloon catheter for cervical ripening in term pregnancies. The results indicated that membrane sweeping was non-inferior to the double-balloon catheter in terms of changes in Bishop scores, while also leading to lower oxytocin use and shorter delivery room stays, suggesting it may be a preferable option for cervical ripening in selected cases.
