Course and clinical outcomes of chronic hepatitis delta: a longitudinal analysis of 565 patients from the D-SOLVE and HDV-1000 consortia

Listen to this summary

This study aims to identify predictors and outcomes of chronic hepatitis delta (CHD) in a large cohort of 565 patients with at least three years of follow-up from the D-SOLVE and HDV-1000 consortia. The findings indicate that older age, elevated gamma-glutamyl transferase levels, cirrhosis, and detectable HDV RNA are significant determinants of liver-related events, with a notably worse prognosis associated with HDV RNA levels ≥1000 IU/mL.
