Does obesity affect serum anti-müllerian hormone or inhibin B levels in polycystic ovary syndrome? Results of a systematic review and meta-analysis

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to determine whether obesity affects serum levels of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) and inhibin B (INHB) in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Their systematic review and meta-analysis of 38 studies revealed that obese women with PCOS had significantly lower levels of both AMH and INHB compared to non-obese counterparts, suggesting that obesity may influence ovarian reserve biomarkers in this population. The findings underscore the importance of considering weight status when interpreting these hormonal markers in PCOS.
