Moral Distress Among School Nurses in School-Based Suicide Prevention: Associations with Caseload and Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Listen to this summary

This study investigates the relationship between school nurses' caseloads, interdisciplinary collaboration, and moral distress in the context of school-based suicide prevention. The findings indicate that higher caseloads are linked to lower collaboration with mental health professionals, which in turn is associated with increased moral distress. The authors suggest that addressing workload demands and enhancing collaborative opportunities could help mitigate moral distress among school nurses involved in student mental health care.
