Hip Arthroscopy in Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome With Versus Without Low Back Pain and Lumbar Spine Pathology Shows Comparable Outcomes at Minimum 5-Year Follow-Up

The study aimed to evaluate the patient-reported outcomes of hip arthroscopy in patients with femoroacetabular impingement syndrome, comparing those with and without low back pain and lumbar spine pathology over a minimum of five years. The findings revealed no significant differences in postoperative outcomes, satisfaction, or reoperation rates between the groups, indicating that patients with concomitant low back issues can expect similar results to those with isolated hip conditions. Additionally, the prevalence of low back pain and lumbar spine pathology in the cohort was found to be 28.9% and 11.5%, respectively.
