Case Log Trends of Graduating Obstetrics and Gynecology Residents Between 2018 and 2024
Listen to this summary
This study aimed to evaluate the trends in operative experience among graduating obstetrics and gynecology residents in the U.S. from 2018 to 2024. The authors found a significant decline in mean operative experience for several core procedures, particularly abdominal hysterectomy and operative vaginal deliveries, while laparoscopic hysterectomy experience increased. These findings underscore the need for ongoing assessment of surgical training to ensure residents are adequately prepared for practice.
