Teaching Vaginal Surgery Through Simulation

The authors conducted a scoping review to assess the current literature on simulation training for gynecologic vaginal surgical procedures, aiming to identify effective educational methodologies and performance metrics. They found significant variability in simulation fidelity, complexity, and educational effectiveness across the 41 included studies, with a notable lack of standardized assessment tools and evidence linking simulation training to improved surgical competency and patient outcomes. The review highlights the need for further research to enhance the validity of simulation training and its practical application in surgical education.
