Long-term survival outcomes of robotic-assisted versus traditional laparoscopy for the treatment of stage I endometrial cancer: a National Cancer Database analysis

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to compare long-term survival outcomes between robotic-assisted and traditional laparoscopic surgery for stage I endometrial cancer using data from the National Cancer Database. Their analysis of 127,342 patients revealed no significant differences in overall survival rates between the two surgical approaches, with 5-year survival rates of 91.7% for robotic surgery and 91.4% for traditional laparoscopic surgery. The findings suggest that both surgical methods yield excellent survival outcomes, but further research is needed to assess potential late recurrences and deaths.
