Progestin and vitamin D synergistically inhibit fallopian tube carcinogenesis
Listen to this summary
The authors aimed to investigate whether vitamin D enhances the progestin-mediated inhibition of fallopian tube (FT) carcinogenesis in a mouse model and to explore the underlying cellular mechanisms. Their findings indicate that the combination of progestin and vitamin D synergistically reduces p53-altered cell proliferation and enhances apoptosis, suggesting that this combination could serve as a more effective chemopreventive strategy for fallopian tube and ovarian cancer compared to either agent alone.
