Exploring delays in primary gynecologic and breast cancer diagnosis after emergency department presentation
Listen to this summary
The authors aimed to identify factors that influence the diagnosis timing of endometrial, ovarian, cervical, and breast cancers following emergency department (ED) visits. Their findings reveal that gynecologic cancers are diagnosed more frequently during ED encounters and have shorter diagnosis intervals compared to breast cancer, with factors such as comorbidities and access to primary care significantly affecting diagnosis likelihood and post-ED intervals.
