Lymphatic mapping and sentinel node biopsy in invasive Vulvar Paget's disease: A retrospective study and systematic review of the literature

Listen to this summary

This study aimed to evaluate the oncologic outcomes of sentinel node biopsy (SNB) in patients with invasive Vulvar Paget's Disease (iVPD). The findings indicate that SNB is a feasible and effective method for nodal staging in iVPD, with a notable rate of metastatic sentinel nodes in patients with microinvasive disease, suggesting the need for inguino-femoral surgical staging in this population. Overall, the study supports the expansion of SNB indications for vulvar neoplasms.
