Assessment of survival and clinicopathologic characteristics associated with lymph node isolated tumor cells in epithelial ovarian cancer

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to evaluate the incidence, characteristics, and survival outcomes associated with isolated tumor cells (ITCs) in regional lymph nodes of patients with epithelial ovarian cancer. Their retrospective analysis of 15,484 patients revealed that while ITCs were more common in higher T classifications and low-grade serous carcinoma, they were not statistically linked to overall survival. The findings suggest that the presence of ITCs may not serve as a prognostic factor for short-term survival in this patient population.
