Patient frustration with time spent on advanced ovarian and metastatic breast cancer care.

Listen to this summary

This study examined how frustrated patients with advanced ovarian or metastatic breast cancer feel about time spent on various care tasks, such as travel, waiting, appointments, and paperwork, in a survey of 83 participants. Trips to the cancer center, travel time, wait times, and paperwork caused the most frustration, with the burden concentrated among patients on disability, those with dependents, and those living 30+ miles from the clinic. The authors conclude that individualized care coordination and streamlined clinic workflows may reduce time-related burden for these vulnerable groups.
