Diagnosis and Treatment of Concomitant Lateral Condyle and Medial Epicondyle Fractures With Elbow Dislocation in Children

The authors aimed to evaluate the clinical and radiologic outcomes of concomitant lateral condyle and medial epicondyle fractures with elbow dislocation in pediatric patients, a rare condition known as bicondylar fracture-dislocation of the elbow (BiCFDE). The study found that, despite the complexity of these injuries, surgical intervention typically leads to favorable outcomes, with most patients achieving excellent recovery. The authors also noted differences in injury mechanisms between subgroups, highlighting the importance of tailoring surgical approaches based on these mechanisms.
