Circulating Tumor DNA Profiling Defines Risk Classification in Patients With Ewing Sarcoma: A Report From the Children's Oncology Group and the LEOPARD Study

The authors aimed to prospectively validate circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) as a prognostic factor and develop clinical-molecular risk groups for patients with Ewing sarcoma (EWS). They found that elevated baseline ctDNA levels were associated with worse outcomes and identified distinct risk groups based on ctDNA burden and clinical features, ultimately establishing criteria for low-, intermediate-, and high-risk classifications in EWS patients. This study highlights the potential of ctDNA profiling to enhance risk stratification in EWS treatment.
