Mid-Term Osteoarthritis Prevalence After Partial Meniscectomy in Knees With High Posterior Tibial Slope

The authors aimed to compare the mid-term development of osteoarthritis (OA) and clinical outcomes following meniscal repair versus partial meniscectomy, particularly considering the influence of posterior tibial slope (PTS) and tear morphology. Their findings indicated that partial meniscectomy led to a higher incidence of radiographic OA compared to meniscal repair, especially in patients with high PTS, while also noting differences in clinical outcomes and revision rates between the two procedures. The study highlights the importance of considering anatomical and lesion-specific factors in preoperative decision-making for meniscal treatments.
