Menopause and the Social Determinants of Health

This clinical perspective investigates how social determinants of health (SDoH) impact the experiences and outcomes of menopause, particularly among marginalized groups such as Black, immigrant, and LGBTQ+ individuals. The authors aim to highlight the need for menopause care to address not only biological factors but also the social, economic, and cultural influences that affect symptom recognition and treatment access, advocating for the integration of SDoH screening and culturally responsive care to promote health equity.
