Anomaly Detection With an Expanded Standardized First-Trimester Fetal Anatomic Ultrasound Screening Protocol

The authors aimed to evaluate the clinical utility of a novel comprehensive ultrasound screening protocol, StaFFAUS, for detecting fetal anomalies in the first trimester. Their study found that StaFFAUS significantly outperformed existing protocols from the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) in terms of anomaly detection rates, sensitivity, and overall diagnostic performance, while maintaining a clinically feasible examination time.
