Osimertinib With or Without Chemotherapy in Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer With EGFR and Concurrent TP53 Mutations: A Randomized Clinical Trial

This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of first-line osimertinib combined with chemotherapy versus osimertinib monotherapy in patients with EGFR-mutated advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that also harbored concurrent TP53 mutations. The results showed that the combination therapy significantly improved median progression-free survival compared to monotherapy (34.0 vs. 15.6 months), although the combination was associated with a higher incidence of grade 3 or higher treatment-related adverse events. These findings support the potential for individualized combination treatment strategies in this patient population.
