Arrhythmia Occurrence After Balloon-Expandable and Self-Expanding Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve Replacement

This study aimed to evaluate the incidence, types, and timing of arrhythmias following transcatheter pulmonary valve replacement (TPVR) using balloon-expandable (BEPVR) versus self-expanding (SEPVR) valves. The findings revealed that while arrhythmias are common after TPVR, there was no significant difference in the incidence of life-threatening arrhythmias or mortality between the two valve types; however, nonsustained ventricular tachycardia (NSVT) was more frequently observed after SEPVR. The authors suggest that further research is needed to understand the long-term implications of NSVT following TPVR.
