Left Ventricular Hypertrabeculation and Prognosis in Dilated Cardiomyopathy

This study investigates the prevalence and prognostic significance of left ventricular (LV) hypertrabeculation in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and its association with embolic risk and adverse cardiovascular outcomes. The authors found that while LV hypertrabeculation is common among DCM patients, it does not correlate with increased embolic risk, major ventricular arrhythmias, or advanced heart failure, suggesting that it should not influence clinical management or lead to prophylactic anticoagulation in these patients.
