Psilocybin therapy for adult females with anorexia nervosa: pilot study

Listen to this summary

This pilot study aimed to evaluate the safety, feasibility, and potential efficacy of psilocybin therapy in adult females with anorexia nervosa. The results indicated that psilocybin was well tolerated and led to significant improvements in eating disorder symptoms and motivation to change, although there was considerable variability in individual responses. The findings support the need for further research in larger, more rigorously designed studies to better understand the therapeutic potential of psilocybin for this population.
