Factors Associated with Urinary Incontinence During Pregnancy: Clinical, Obstetric, and Metabolic Analysis

Listen to this summary

This study aimed to investigate the association between clinical, obstetric, and metabolic factors, particularly gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), and the occurrence of urinary incontinence (UI) in high-risk pregnant women. The results indicated that multiparity was the only significant predictor of UI, with no substantial link found between GDM and UI. The authors suggest that strategies for screening and managing UI should focus on women with multiple pregnancies to better preserve pelvic floor function.
