A Hybrid Auricular Cartilage-ePTFE Technique for Limited Nasal Lengthening and Augmentation in Selected Primary Han Chinese Rhinoplasty

This study investigates the effectiveness and safety of a hybrid technique combining autologous auricular cartilage with an expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) implant for dorsal augmentation, limited nasal lengthening, and tip refinement in selected primary Han Chinese patients undergoing rhinoplasty. The authors aimed to evaluate postoperative outcomes and complications associated with this approach, finding significant improvements in nasal length and tip projection without major complications like implant extrusion. The results suggest that this technique may be a viable alternative to traditional methods that require costal cartilage harvesting, although further long-term studies are needed to assess durability and delayed complications.
