The study found that participants experienced significant short-term weight loss, with a mean reduction of 15 kg prior to surgery, suggesting that such interventions may be beneficial for this patient population. However, the authors call for larger comparative studies to further assess the perioperative benefits and oncologic safety of preoperative weight loss.
