Reproducibility of Biomarkers in MASLD: A Benchmark for Clinically Meaningful Change in Serially Measured Non-Invasive Tests

The authors aimed to evaluate the reproducibility of non-invasive tests (NITs) for monitoring disease severity in metabolic-dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) to establish clinically meaningful changes at the patient level. Through a comprehensive analysis of measurement variation across a large cohort, they found that different NITs exhibited varying degrees of reproducibility, with the enhanced liver fibrosis score showing the highest reliability. These findings provide critical insights for the longitudinal monitoring of disease progression and treatment response in clinical practice and drug development.
