Health Status Outcomes 7 Years After Transcatheter or Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement in Low-Surgical Risk Patients With Aortic Stenosis

This study aimed to compare long-term health status outcomes between transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) in low-surgical risk patients with severe aortic stenosis. While both treatments significantly improved health status over seven years, TAVR showed superior outcomes in the first two years, after which the health status scores were similar between the two groups. Ultimately, approximately 60% of patients in both groups reported excellent health outcomes by the seven-year mark.
