A multi-national study examined the response sustainability to calcineurin inhibitors and long-term kidney survivals in children with genetic podocytopathies

This study investigates the sustainability of response to calcineurin inhibitors (CNI) and its impact on long-term kidney survival in children with genetic podocytopathies. The authors found that while only a subset of patients achieved a sustained response to CNI, those who did not experience kidney failure, and even those with non-sustained responses had better kidney survival compared to non-responders. These results suggest that CNI treatment may be beneficial for certain children with genetic podocytopathies, warranting further investigation.
