Long-term Management of Stable Vulvar Lichen Sclerosus: A Scoping Review of Models of Care

This scoping review aimed to explore existing literature on the long-term management of stable vulvar lichen sclerosus (VLS), specifically examining care settings and provider roles while identifying gaps in current frameworks. The authors found a lack of empirical evidence on effective models of care, despite consensus on the need for lifelong follow-up, highlighting significant barriers to implementation such as missed follow-ups and inadequate clinician knowledge. Overall, the review underscores the disconnect between recommended practices and actual care delivery for VLS management.
