Sustaining named GP continuity requires organisational change: comparative implementation analysis in Finland

The authors aimed to evaluate the implementation of a named GP model in Finnish primary care and understand the differences in outcomes between two contrasting healthcare units. Their findings revealed that while the model was effectively adopted in one unit (Tuira), it remained nominal in the other (Pudasjärvi), highlighting the importance of sustained GP presence and organizational alignment for achieving continuity of care.
