Selective JNK3 Inhibition Ameliorates TGF-β-Mediated Glomerular Injury and Fibrosis in the Kidneys
Listen to this summary
The authors investigate the role of JNK3, a neuron-specific isoform of c-Jun N-terminal kinase, in TGF-β-mediated glomerular injury and fibrosis in chronic kidney disease (CKD). They demonstrate that selective inhibition of JNK3 significantly reduces TGF-β-induced fibrotic responses and improves kidney function in both human podocytes and an adriamycin-induced mouse model, suggesting that targeting JNK3 may be a promising therapeutic strategy for CKD.
