Ultrasound-Guided Radiofrequency Ablation of Benign Thyroid Nodules: 2-Year Follow-Up Results from a Single Center

Listen to this summary

This study aimed to evaluate the long-term clinical outcomes of ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for benign thyroid nodules (BTNs) over a two-year period, particularly focusing on volume reduction rates across different baseline sizes. The results indicated that while larger nodules initially exhibited a higher volume reduction rate, all groups achieved comparable therapeutic success by 24 months, with a low complication rate. Overall, RFA proved to be an effective and safe alternative to surgery for managing BTNs.
