Intergenerational fecundity and infertility: a cohort study

Listen to this summary

The authors aimed to determine whether parental time to pregnancy (TTP) and maternal history of infertility are linked to an increased risk of infertility in their adult children. The study found that longer parental TTP and a maternal history of infertility were associated with a higher risk of infertility in both sons and daughters, suggesting a potential intergenerational transmission of fertility issues. Further research is needed to confirm these findings and explore the underlying mechanisms.
