Three-Year Changes in Health-Related Quality of Life After Laparoscopic Hysterectomy: A Registry-Based Cohort Study

Listen to this summary

The study aimed to evaluate changes in health-related quality of life (HRQoL) three years after laparoscopic hysterectomy (LH) for various indications and to identify baseline factors influencing these changes. Results indicated significant improvements in HRQoL for women undergoing LH for benign conditions, while those with prophylactic surgery showed no significant changes, and women with malignant indications experienced mixed outcomes. The authors found that higher baseline HRQoL was a strong predictor of less improvement over time, emphasizing its importance in preoperative counseling.
